Ingredients for the Crust:

  • 1 tsp yeast

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 2 cups flour

  • ¾ cup warm water

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Toppings:

  • Fresh mozzarella

  • Sliced tomato

  • Pesto paste

  • Parsley

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Hot Honey Sticks

Directions:

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, combine the yeast with warm water and let sit for 1 min. Then add dry ingredients such as sugar, salt, garlic powder, and flour in a separate bowl. Gradually add warm yeast water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Cover with a towel and let it rise for 30 minutes to an hour (Depending on the type of yeast)

  2. Shape the Flatbread: Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a flat, even shape. You can go for a rustic, round shape or make it rectangular—whatever you prefer.

  3. Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). While the oven heats, prepare your toppings: slice the tomatoes and mozzarella, and have your pesto paste ready.

  4. Assemble & Bake: Spread a thin layer of pesto over the dough, then top with slices of mozzarella and tomato. Sprinkle parsley, salt, and pepper on top. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.

  5. Enjoy: Add Hot Honey on top, slice and serve hot for a delicious meal that’s perfect on its own or paired with a fresh salad!

This quick flatbread recipe is a fantastic way to enjoy homemade food without too much fuss. Simple, fresh, and customizable—feel free to add your favorite toppings!
